"How can I prevent dampness/moisture in my safe?"
Note: HD series safes will not release moisture into the safe. In regards to the LC series we suggest that you open the safe at least once every two weeks for approximately 20 minutes. Do not store your safe unit in areas of your home or business with already high humidity levels. You can also purchase silicone packets and store them in the safe so they will absorb some of the moisture that is being held inside.

"How do I get into my safe after a fire?"
If you can, please tell the firefighters where the safe is located. If they can they will try and keep the fire away from it.
After the fire has been extinguished you should leave your safe to cool for several hours, before trying to access it.
If the lock has not been damaged you can try and input your combination and retrieve your belongings. If the lock has been damaged and you are unable to use your combination, contact a local locksmith and they should have the correct tools to get into your safe.
For further information please contact Protex Safe Company at (818) 773-8030.

"Do I need to do anything special to store delicate materials?"
With our LC series safes (One Hour UL Rated Fire Safes) it is recommended to keep your papers or delicate items in plastic bags with a seal such as Ziploc© Bags. Depending on the size of your safe you can use airtight containers to store bulkier objects.
As far as the rest of our safes there’s no need for special storing materials, the HD series with will not release moisture into the safe.
